I’ve been seeing this Ancient Grain and Super Seed Blend from Trader Joe’s all over Facebook lately, and it had me curious. Since I already was in the mood for protein balls (and practicing for our upcoming road trip), I decided to head over to find it. Instead I found a different one with coconut chips and dried cranberries!
At this point, I have to write my name on my protein powder, otherwise it’s gone!
These protein balls are a perfect balance of sweet, crunchy, and filling that’ll give you protein, fat, and much more! I love finding new protein ball recipes (and I can’t wait to share the latest recipes with you!). Protein balls are simple to make, fantastic for on the go, healthy, and as mentioned before, filling.
Ingredients:
(dairy-free, gluten-free, can be vegan)
1 cup raw almond butter (normal works fine too)
1 cup Shaklee Vanilla Life Shake
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup Trader Joe’s Super Seed Blend with cranberry and coconut chips
2 tbsp. shredded coconut, unsweetened
Mix almond butter, honey, life shake, ancient grains blend, and coconut in a bowl by hand. Place into freezer for a few minutes, until firm. Take out, and use a tablespoon to measure out your protein balls. Use 1 tbsp protein ball mix to form a ball and place on a plate. Voila! Enjoy 🙂
Note: If vegan use maple syrup in place of honey.
(I used raw honey in the picture, but realised quickly that it was too hard to mix. So I microwaved it for 20 seconds, which means you might as well buy regular honey since it’s cheaper as well.)
What’s your favourite Trader Joe’s product?
Love,
    Maxi
