I. Love. Traveling! And what I love even more is the fact that I have to do some of it for my business! For example, two months ago I had to travel to Orlando, FL for a business conference. One of the biggest problems with traveling is how to stay healthy. Here’s what I did throughout my time on the road to keep my healthy lifestyle!
The morning before leaving I fixed myself and the family a protein-filled snack so we wouldn’t go hungry! Since protein is very filling, these turkey meatballs were perfect! (They’re also not messy, so it was great for keeping the car clean.)
The turkey meatballs were made of dark ground turkey, some fresh herbs and salt.
Right while we were on the road, my wisdom tooth decided to show up, so I was in some pain. Thank goodness I had prepared for it by packing tons of my favourite protein powder that I mixed with this fruit and veggie smoothie.
In Georgia we made our traditional pit stop at The Sentient Bean cafe. I’m most likely going to do a separate post on that, because I have so much to say about it! Long story short: if you have any kinds of allergies, dietary restrictions or preferences, this is the place to go. I had a smoothie and then got some snacks next door from The Brighter Day Natural Food Market.
I loved, loved, LOVED the energy bites! I got the acai coconut energy bites, which were just fabulous! I also bought a bar that claimed to taste like pie (it didn’t to my dismay, but it still tasted great)! Other fabulous additions are their prepared foods (try their vegan potato salad and their rainbow kale salad).

This of course made up for my less than stellar eating at the wonderful Zum Rosenhof. I don’t feel bad about it though, travel should be all about balance. Kale salad for lunch, and fries for dinner. 😉
I’ll be posting soon what I had, when I was in FL, as well as the promised restaurant reviews!
What are some places you have eaten at on the road?
Love,
Maxi
