Hey guys,
so each and every time I try to commit to a certain blog schedule, I end up having an issue with my blog….is it a sign? Psh..of course not! Or if it is, I’m going to stay in blissful ignorance! 😉 So I have my wordpress problems all sorted out, and can finally return to posting regularly! It’s half-way through January and I feel like either time has flown by or the new year hasn’t started yet. However, since it IS January, it’s time for a January Favorites again! I have so many new monthly favorites, it’s hard to narrow them down!
So far January for me has been a time to re-prioritize, focus on productivity and spending time on things that are important to me. For the first few weeks of the first month of 2017 I’ve been hanging out with friends, playing board games with my brother (which I haven’t done in ages) and worked on clearing out my room (I watched the film “The Minimalists”…and yeah that happened).
On to the monthly favorites…
BLOG: www.beeandroo.com
What I love so much about this blog is the clean cut, minimalist feel to it, and of course all of the beautiful pictures! There are great blog posts for reading inspiration, outdoor gear tips, and so much more. After browsing through the blog, all you’ll want to do is grab a backpack and head for the outdoors with adventure in mind!
FITNESS/HEALTH: Resistance Bands
Guys, I’ve been wanting resistance bands for FOREVER! If you want to really get a great burn without using weights, resistance bands are the way to go! Total bonus: They’re easy to take with you when you travel. You can find these for a reasonable price at a TJMaxx or on Amazon.
BOOK: “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy
If you’re in need for a good kick in the butt to make 2017 your best and most productive year EVER, then this is the book to read! I love Darren’s approach to goal-setting and how to focus on those small habits and steps we take towards goals. I think we often don’t realize that the small steps add up to huge change! Very worth-while read!
SMOOTHIE: Blueberry-Lemon Smoothie
Confession time: I’ve been obsessed with lemons lately. I want lemon juice in everything. So when I was trying to think of my favorite monthly smoothie, it went a little like this: “The Strawberry-Banana-Lemon Twist is really good! Or no..the Blueberry-Lemon one was better. Wait…but what about..” You get the point. What I love about the Blueberry-Lemon Smoothie is that it’s full of antioxidants from the berries, but still has the added freshness of the lemons. (Recipe will be posted soon.)
NATURAL COSMETICS: Pacifica Perfume in Ruby Guava
I get headaches from my own perfume. Yup, I’m THAT person. I’ve always wanted to have a cloud of perfume around me, like all the popular girls in high school (without it being obnoxious of course), yet knew I’d get a migraine if I attempted that. For a while I went on to some sort of essential oil based ones, and they smelled great but faded after 20 minutes (which is SO not the point. Everyone should know I smell like Vanilla-Peach!). While this perfume is a bunch stronger than the essential oil ones, what I do love is that it’s still a natural brand and it reminds me of Florida…plus it doesn’t make my skin break out (which let’s be real-no one likes).
FOOD: Lemons, RXBar in Chocolate Sea Salt, and Pineapple Peach Kombucha
As I mentioned before I love lemons right now. Love is a slight understatement, but we’ll roll with it. A former middle school pal kept posting about the RXBars and I’m going to be completely honest with you: this one was the only one I enjoyed, but I enjoyed it thoroughly! Whenever you do sweet and salty, my tastebuds have a little party. So give it a try and let me know how you like it! Kombucha kind of goes along with the lemons (maybe my body is craving acidic foods?), and I picked this one up from my local grocery store…so damn good! It really tastes like Pineapple and Peach, but has the bubbliness of the Kombucha. Win-win right?

So what are your favorites for January? Have you tried the RXBars? Which ones do you like? How has your January been so far?
Love,
Maxi
