Hello again!
The last few weeks have been all about new experiences..and I loved every second of it! It’s amazing when you have the right group of friends, how they’re open and eager to try out different things/experiences with you. I knew I had set out for 2017 to be all about strength and new experiences. That meant trying out things that scare me or that I never took the time for. One of those things was archery. Since it was freezing outside and I’m not a penguin, I found an indoor archery place and asked two friends to come join. We had a blast! It was a new experience for two of us, while the other had tried it out years ago. While I don’t mind doing things by myself, it’s always more fun to do things with others. 🙂 Plus you all can laugh later on about how you accidentally stepped on someone’s feet during dance class!
Another new adventure for me last week was watching the Super Bowl. While often friends of mine and even family friends would have whole events put together just to watch this sports game, I never was particularly interested in watching it. However I always wanted to watch a sports game in person and connect with a bunch of people at once! So this year instead of saying “no” to my friends, I said “yes, I’ll watch the Super Bowl with you!” Granted we didn’t do much watching, but WAY more talking; yet it was still a new experience and one that I enjoyed quite a bunch! Sometimes it’s better to say “yes” instead of “no.”
Here are a few tips on how to get more new experiences under your belt:
- Make a list of new things you’d like to try
- Find 1-2 (or more) friends to do it with you!
- Look on groupon for inexpensive options/deals in your area and go crazy!
- Say yes when a friend asks you to try something with them.
For me, many of my experiences included new fitness activities. I’ve always wanted to try out Soulcycle or Insanity, but never have gotten around to it. I love that fitness and working out can be fun, but you have to find what activities are fun to you! So for myself and those of you who love trying new sports, I made a list of all the fitness classes or sports classes I could think of and create a check list or bucket list of sorts.
Is there anything you’ve tried on this list, that you loved or hated? What was your experience? Is there anything that’s NOT on the list? Please let me know!
Until next week!
Love,
Maxi
