Oh man, we have an abundance of pomegranate (just asked my mom what the plural is of pomegranate…seriously don’t know – pomegranates?) in our house, leftover from our last skin care event when we had fixed a holiday Sangria. So what to do with too many pomegranate(s)? For us often leftover raw fruit or veggies are incorporated into smoothies, and boy this one is a good one!
When I was adding in our leftover cranberry juice (which no one touches), my brother was screaming “Nooo, don’t do that!” at me. He thought it would create too bitter of a taste in the smoothie, but he was wrong- hah! The berries mixed with the pomegranate and the protein powder creates a delightful sweet with a hint of tart taste that will leave you full and satisfied, but looking forward to your next smoothie.
If you’re not a huge fan of peeling pomegranates, then you can always buy the seeds at the grocery store. They are however quite pricey, and I occasionally persuade other members of the household to deseed them for me. 😉
Let me know what you thought of this recipe!
Love,
