In Germany it’s not unusual to have several coffee or tea breaks in a week. This is the time when you sit with your family in the afternoon, to take a break from whatever you’ve been working on, and simply enjoy the pleasures of company combined with something sweet to eat and a cup of coffee (or tea). I honestly miss those times, especially when I haven’t been back to Germany in forever! It’s been a few years since I’ve visited, so I’m definitely feeling a bit nostalgic.
Since I’m not having any sweets right now, I have to divert this craving for coffee and cake and thought maybe a protein smoothie would hit the right spot! And boy was I right! I ADORE chocolate, and while coffee itself as a drink isn’t my thing, I do love coffee-flavored desserts or other things! This mocha protein smoothie hits all the requirements for me to be satisfied and not experience any of the side effects of caffeine.
So today I fixed this for breakfast, sitting down with a book I’m reading, and enjoying this quick fix. It definitely feels like a morning smoothie versus something to have later on in the day. Unless you do want to have something small and sweet with it, then an afternoon coffee break is definitely a great opportunity to make this!
I hope you enjoy!
Love,
Maxi
