It’s here! Shaklee has come up with a new product that I’ve been itching for for a while! I’m very much into superfood powders whether we’re talking about spirulina, chlorella, maca, lucuma, the list goes on. I’m so excited about their new product – the Organic Greens Booster! It’s a combination of kale, spinach and broccoli in a powdered form which makes it extremely convenient to add greens to anything you can think of! I’ve had to test a few recipes out to see what tasted too “green” (I will never become a person who’s able to drink a purely veggie juice), but I’m definitely not complaining!
Each scoop of the Organic Greens Booster is the equivalent of 1 cup of leafy greens, and a scoop is about 1 tsp. of powder. It definitely makes it easier when you’re having a day where you just slacked on veggie intake, don’t feel like cooking too much, or have younger children who are veggie resistant. I have a bunch more recipes coming up using this organic greens booster that I’m so excited to share with you! And it’s been such a hit and so high in demand that it’s been backordered for a bit, but thankfully it’ll be restocked soon!
So…on to the smoothie! I’m not a huge fan of green apples (unless I’m juicing them) so I was surprised I enjoyed them in this smoothie. The smoothie is just a perfect combination of tart, sweet, and filling and definitely does not have an overpowering taste of kale! If you’re new to greens or are reluctant about putting in kale in your smoothies, this is definitely an easy introduction. I know I was concerned it would taste like a wheatgrass shot, but I was completely wrong! (And no, you will not sprout any leaves after drinking this 😉 ) I hope you enjoy!
Love,
    Maxi
