I was walking through Fresh Market, one of our favorite grocery stores, looking for something to throw into one of my daily smoothies when I stumbled across the POM Pomegranate Juice. Knowing that the cold season was kicking in, and people around me have started sniffling, I thought it would be a good idea to add freshly juiced oranges for some Vitamin C and the pomegranate juice for some heart-healthy antioxidants. The result tasted better than I could’ve imagined!
Spiced Latte Smoothie
Who is ready for fall? I so am! Fall is my favorite season of the year. It’s the time of boots, scarves, slouchy sweaters, beanies, apple picking and pumpkin patches. The trees turn beautiful shades of orange, red, and yellow, and the sunshine turns a golden sheen. Gone is the sticky heat, replaced by a slight cool breeze. Needless to say, I LOVE FALL!

HOW TO NATURALLY HELP COMMON HEALTH AILMENTS WITH SHAKLEE
(Warning: This is a bit of a longer post, but there’s a lot of helpful information here!)
I have struggled with a ton of different issues or ailments throughout high school in particular: acne, digestion issues, frizzy hair, nails that broke quickly, immunity, etc. My last year of school I was sick 30 days out of the school year. At five school days a week, that makes more than a month! One of my teachers actually told me on graduation day that he was surprised that I passed my exams and graduated. Let me tell you, that was quite a shock! He then backtracked and told me that due to me being sick so often, he didn’t think I could catch up on all of the school work, and it certainly was hard! I wasn’t caught up on the material, and therefore my grades weren’t the greatest. (The testing anxiety and perfectionism didn’t help much there either.)
(Almost Raw) Banana Coffee Chocolate Chip Protein Balls
I’ve been on a snack craze lately. And coincidentally my newest snack obsession is a raw or almost raw protein ball. It’s convenient, healthier than a piece of cake, delicious, and has plenty of nutrients! I didn’t know what kind of flavor to write up as a blog recipe first, but in the midst of shopping for ingredients I remembered I only had coffee protein powder. First I panicked, thinking I couldn’t possibly create a protein ball recipe that was good and had coffee in it, but low and behold I saw bananas and knew exactly what to fix!
Spiced Banana Milk Smoothie
I was feeling nostalgic lately and remembered how in middle and high school my Dad used to make me a banana milk every single day. It was smooth, creamy, refreshing and comforting all at the same time. And I realized switching over to dairy-free shouldn’t mean I can’t have my favorite childhood drink!
This smoothie totally hit the spot and was oh so satisfying!
My Skin Care Routine
This is embarrassing for me to share, but I’ve had some pretty bad acne in the past. I remember I’d drive my mom crazy, because I’d walk around with my head down, big sunglasses and a baseball cap feeling like a monster. I’d borrow my mom’s concealer everyday and cry because I felt like when people would talk to me, they’d be staring at my acne instead. It shouldn’t have been such a big deal, but I’ll admit even nowadays when I see a slight raise in my skin my head goes into panic mode.
Refreshing Morning Juice
My favorite way to start my day is by juicing a bunch of veggies and fruits. Not only do I feel refreshed and energized, but I feel like I’m doing something good for my body. There’s no better way to begin the day than treating yourself to a healthy breakfast. Paired with a fruit salad, some cut up raw veggies or some scrambled eggs, this makes for a nutritious, balanced and healthy meal.
