Christmas is coming, and man it can get quite stressful! So much time is spent with searching for gifts, that the whole purpose of Christmas often gets lost. I have many friends, whom I adore, that I want to give a truly personal gift that means something to them and to me. One way of doing that is by simply making a gift for them instead of buying something! I know when I was younger, I would bake cookies with my family, wrap them up in a pretty Chinese take-out box and give them to my teachers as an appreciation gift during the holiday season. Not only was baking the cookies a ton of fun (as well as eating whatever was left over), but it also meant a lot to my teachers to give them something that was thoughtful and took effort.
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Protein Bread
Guys, guys, guys, guys, guys!!!! Oh. My. Gosh. I fixed the BEST pumpkin chocolate chip bread EVER last weekend and it was everything I wanted and more! Do you know that feeling when you’re fixing something and you’re crossing your fingers that everything will turn out okay, because you have your doubts that it’ll taste good? That was me! But it couldn’t have turned out better 🙂
Pomegranate Power Smoothie
Oh man, we have an abundance of pomegranate (just asked my mom what the plural is of pomegranate…seriously don’t know – pomegranates?) in our house, leftover from our last skin care event when we had fixed a holiday Sangria. So what to do with too many pomegranate(s)? For us often leftover raw fruit or veggies are incorporated into smoothies, and boy this one is a good one!
Peppermint Patty Protein Bites
Hello!
Crazy that Thanksgiving is over, right? Christmas feels like it’s right around the corner, and if I’m being honest I already started listening to holiday jingles a week ago. 😉 While the holiday mood is adding to my merry mood, I don’t understand all the people who pop up on my social media feeds who have put up their Christmas trees. Ours never lasts that long!
Fall Flavor Smoothie: Maple Pumpkin Smoothie
It’s only a few more days until Fall officially begins! (Five more days to be exact, from the time I’ve written this post up, but who’s counting!) I’m as excited as can be, and I’ve been cooking and baking in the kitchen with fall in mind. All the typical fall flavors are suddenly speaking to me and pumpkin, butternut squash, Â and cinnamon are in almost every dish (not simultaneously though). I seriously love me some fall flavors!
Secret Ingredient Brownies
Who doesn’t enjoy brownies? To me, brownies are the perfect compliment to a movie marathon or a ladies’ spa night. A few weeks back I was invited to go to a spa night one of my girlfriends was hosting, and was asked to bring something. I had been dying to have brownies again, so I selfishly decided that was what I was going to do. These brownies were such a hit and I was asked to share the recipe several times!
Blueberry-Lemon Smoothie
Bonjour, mes amis!
As promised in my January Favorites post, here is my new favorite smoothie recipe! 🙂 I’m usually not a HUGE fan of blueberries in my smoothie, but this smoothie works perfectly for me. I love the tartness and fresh taste that the lemon juice adds to it! I don’t go a day without adding lemon juice to something, so smoothie it is!
A Fall Treat: Pumpkin Cranberry Breakfast Cookies
So Blogtober hit a bit of a speed bump. My computer started acting up, and my mouse went everywhere but where I wanted to. Trying to get this fixed took a while, but I’m back and will of course post all of the fall-themed content I had planned for Blogtober! So here goes!
Fall Flavors: Pumpkin Cranberry Protein Bites
Yesterday I ate 10 protein bites. It wasn’t exactly ideal, especially considering how stuffed I was, but they certainly were worth it! Cranberries and pumpkin work so well together! I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin, but this worked perfectly. They generally had me thinking pumpkin cranberry cookies, scones, etc…my mind just goes to all sorts of places in food land! Next time I’ll be trying chocolate chips instead of cranberries, for a dessert-like treat.
Tropical Strawberry Smoothie
Even though it’s fall, I do like some tropical flavors every now and then. There’s only so much fall-flavor you can pack into the two months. Do I love fall-themed foods and drinks? You better believe it! Do I want to have an apple pie smoothie everyday for 60 days? As much as I love it, I really need some variety. I was inspired by a Facebook post of a friend of mine who had made a similar smoothie, but jazzed it up a bit.
